Ensco plc (NYSE: ESV) announced today that based on preliminary
inspections its U.S. Gulf of Mexico operations have not been damaged by
Hurricane Isaac. Ensco’s drillship and semisubmersible rigs successfully
mobilized away from the storm and a flyover inspection indicates no
damage to the Company’s jackup rigs that were secured and evacuated
ahead of the hurricane. Ensco’s warehouse facility in Broussard,
Louisiana also is undamaged.
Steps are already being taken to mobilize Ensco’s drillship and
semisubmersible rigs back to their drilling locations and to re-crew
rigs that were evacuated. Ensco has 10 jackup rigs, one drillship and
five semisubmersible rigs in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico. The Company
